Case
Maciek delivered a new cloud service functionality - Burstable VM instance - that provided Ubicloud customers with a hosted compute service at $0.01 per hour.
The challenge
Ubicloud is an open-source alternative to AWS. While it already offered hosted Compute services at a very attractive price, some customers told them they needed a lower entry point. The Ubicloud team came up with an idea for small and burstable VM instances. Still, it lacked the engineering capacity to deliver them quickly.
The project
Maciek successfully delivered a completely new feature, enhanced the hosting infrastructure, and integrated it all seamlessly into the existing Ubicloud architecture.
- Fast onboarding: Quick ramp-up with Ubicloud technology stack, Ruby and Sequel+Roda frameworks, and delivering code that fit well into the existing design patterns.
- Fast prototyping: The initial design ideas were rapidly converted into a working proof-of-concept, and a corresponding design document, greenlighting the whole project.
- Seamless collaboration: Communicated and collaborated with the team, ensuring all feedback was taken into account and all questions were answered.
